Beauty within the Beast

Vultures are our best “garbage men”, cleaning up diseased carcasses that help prevent us and our animals from falling ill.  This video highlights how special and beautiful vultures really are and how important VulPro’s work is.

Vultures have been so threatened and their numbers are declining so rapidly, around the world that they have their own unique day.  International Vulture Awareness Day or IVAD, is celebrated on the first Saturday of each September each year.

This special day is used to raise awareness for these special birds.  Zoos, bird lovers, conservationists and nature reserves worldwide, take part each.

They raise money to help save endangered vultures and they teach people about them, how special, unique and important they are to our environment.

What can you or your school do, to make IVAD special?

Kids can make a Difference!

Vultures due to a lack of positive press and “good looks” find themselves the outcasts and loners on the wildlife front.  Supporting them and fighting for them is an uphill battle that never ends.

Every single person doing their little bit, adds up to making a huge difference, for a grounded vulture it is literally the difference between life and death!

VulPro is  a non-profit organisation who relies on public support, donations, grants, sponsorships and bequests, to allow them to continue their good work.

How can you help?

Schools

Fundraising events at schools such as walkathons, cake sales, sponsored walks, the sky is the limit.  It just needs you to care enough to want to help.
